Three Continuing Barriers to Cloud Application Development
In talking with customers and prospects over the last few months, three themes that seem to be barriers to Cloud application development have repeatedly emerged. The first is that of Cloud security, the second Cloud performance and the third Cloud technology requirements.
Cloud Computing – or Whatever You Call It
Organizations are moving applications and infrastructure to servers on the Internet at an increasingly rapid rate and Cloud Computing – or whatever you call it – is changing the way people access information as well as they way they work and play. That is making the term ”Cloud Computing” more ubiquitous. Yet, as often happens with emerging technology waves, it is also making the term more confusing and vague.
Business Process Management and Cloud Computing
Cloud Computing is changing the fundamental way in which information technology services are being delivered. It is also spawning a whole new series of terms and acronyms like Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Business Operations Platform (BOP), Public Cloud and Private Cloud. It seems as though new terms are being coined every day. As both established and emerging vendors move into the Cloud Computing marketplace the definition of Cloud Computing continues to morph.
